Our electromechanical works deliver the power and environmental systems that keep telecom and commercial facilities running. Radios, transmission equipment and servers are only as available as the power feeding them and the cooling keeping them in range — which is why this scope decides site uptime more often than the active equipment does.
We design, supply, install, test and commission low and medium voltage distribution — switchgear, panels, cabling and protection. Distribution is where load growth is either planned for or hits a wall, so we size it against what the site is expected to carry, not only what it draws on day one.
Standby generators cover extended mains outages. We handle installation, fuel and exhaust arrangements, control and changeover, and commissioning under load. A generator that has never been load tested is an assumption rather than a backup.
Telecom loads are largely DC. We install rectifier systems and DC power plants with the battery capacity the site’s autonomy target requires, and UPS where AC loads have to ride through the gap before the generator picks up.
Equipment rooms and shelters need their heat removed and their temperature held within the equipment’s operating range. We install air conditioning and ventilation sized to the actual heat load, including redundancy where a single failure would otherwise take the room out.
Earthing and lightning protection is the least visible part of electromechanical works and among the most consequential. A tower is an attractive strike target, and the damage from a strike usually appears in the equipment rather than the structure. Lightning protection is covered internationally by IEC standards, and earthing is designed alongside it rather than added afterwards.
We can take on standalone electromechanical packages, or works integrated into a wider telecom project. Integrated is usually the easier programme to run: when the same contractor delivers the civil works, the power and the telecom infrastructure, nobody is waiting on somebody else’s sequence.
Our electromechanical works cover design, supply, installation, testing and commissioning. Commissioning is the point at which the design is proven rather than described — systems are tested under realistic conditions and the results recorded.
Power and cooling underpin every site we build, including wireless and tower sites. Operations and maintenance keeps these systems serviced once they are live.
